Treat your ingredients with care...
- Chicken — For extra tenderness, you can pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness before marinating.
- Thai basil leaves — If you can't find Thai basil, regular basil can be used as a substitute.
- Thai peanut sauce — Adjust the spiciness of the sauce by adding more or less chili flakes or a dash of sriracha.
Tips & Tricks
- To add a smoky flavor, you can grill the pita breads for a few seconds on each side before assembling the gyros.
- If you prefer a milder taste, you can reduce the amount of chili flakes in the marinade.
- For a vegetarian version, you can substitute the chicken with tofu or grilled vegetables.
