Ingredients
In this Norwegian adaptation of Katsu, we incorporate traditional Norwegian flavors and ingredients to create a unique fusion dish. Instead of using traditional Japanese seasonings, we use a blend of Norwegian herbs and spices to infuse the pork cutlets with a distinct Nordic taste. Additionally, we serve the cutlets with creamy mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce, which are popular accompaniments in Norwegian cuisine. - Lingonberry sauce — If lingonberry sauce is not available, cranberry sauce can be used as a substitute.
Tips & Tricks
- To achieve a crispy crust, make sure the oil is hot enough before frying the cutlets.
- If you prefer a lighter version, you can bake the cutlets without frying them first. Simply coat them with breadcrumbs and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
