Treat your ingredients with care...
- Beef or lamb — For a more tender result, choose cuts of meat that are suitable for slow cooking, such as chuck roast or lamb shoulder.
- Sweet potatoes — Cut the sweet potatoes into evenly sized cubes to ensure they cook evenly.
- Fresh cilantro — If you're not a fan of cilantro, you can substitute it with fresh parsley for a milder herb flavor.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra burst of flavor, marinate the meat in the spice mixture for a few hours or overnight before cooking.
- If you prefer a thicker stew, you can mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a little water and add it to the pot during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
- Feel free to customize the vegetables based on your preferences or what's in season. Adding bell peppers or butternut squash can add additional depth to the stew.
