Ingredients
In this Namibian adaptation of Nyponsoppa, we incorporate Namibian spices such as coriander, chili, and cloves to infuse the soup with the flavors of Namibian cuisine. Additionally, we use local Namibian rosehips, which have a slightly different flavor profile compared to Swedish rosehips, adding a unique twist to the dish. Preparation

1.Rinse the rosehips thoroughly and remove any stems or leaves.

2.In a large pot, combine the rosehips, water, sugar, cinnamon stick, ground coriander, chili powder, and cloves.

3.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes, or until the rosehips are soft and mushy.

4.Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly.

5.Using a blender or immersion blender, puree the mixture until smooth.

6.Strain the soup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any seeds or pulp.

7.Stir in the lemon juice and adjust the sweetness according to your taste by adding more sugar if desired.

8.Chill the soup in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
