Ingredients
In this California adaptation of Tantuni, we incorporate the flavors and ingredients commonly found in California cuisine. We replace the traditional lavash bread with tortillas, which are widely used in Mexican-inspired dishes popular in California. Additionally, we add colorful bell peppers to enhance the dish's visual appeal and provide a fresh crunch. The use of lime juice adds a zesty twist, reflecting the citrusy flavors often found in Californian cuisine. We alse have the original recipe for Tantuni, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...
- Beef or chicken — For a tender and flavorful result, thinly slice the meat against the grain. If using beef, choose a cut like sirloin or flank steak. If using chicken, boneless, skinless chicken breast works well.
Tips & Tricks
- You can add a touch of heat by adding sliced jalapenos or crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
- Experiment with different types of tortillas, such as whole wheat or corn, to suit your preference.
- Serve with a side of fresh salsa or guacamole for an extra burst of flavor.
- If you prefer a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with tofu or tempeh and adjust the cooking time accordingly.
- For added crunch, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds on top before rolling up the tortillas.
