Preparation

1.In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt for the dumpling wrappers. Gradually add water and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
-
2.In a separate bowl, mix together the minced meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric powder, salt, black pepper, and chopped cilantro until well combined.
-
3.On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a thin sheet. Cut out circles using a round cookie cutter or a glass.
-
4.Place a spoonful of the meat filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the circle in half and seal the edges by pressing them together firmly.
-
5.Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the dumplings in batches for about 5-6 minutes or until they float to the surface. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
-
6.For the dipping sauce, mix together the soy sauce, lime juice, sambal oelek, and honey in a small bowl until well combined.
-
7.Serve the Madurese-style Stuffed Dumplings hot, accompanied by the tangy dipping sauce.
Treat your ingredients with care...
- Minced meat — Ensure the meat is well-cooked to avoid any foodborne illnesses.

Tips & Tricks
- If you prefer a vegetarian version, substitute the minced meat with finely chopped mushrooms or tofu.
- Experiment with different dipping sauces such as peanut sauce or sweet chili sauce for a variety of flavors.
- To save time, you can use store-bought dumpling wrappers instead of making them from scratch.
- Make a large batch of dumplings and freeze them for later use. Just boil them straight from the freezer when needed.
