1.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round cake pan.

2.In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until they are soft and translucent.

3.Stir in the Surinamese masala spice blend and sambal, and cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

4.In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and melted butter.
