- Chickpeas — If using canned chickpeas, rinse them thoroughly before adding to the curry to remove any excess sodium.
- Cumin — Toasting whole cumin seeds and grinding them fresh will enhance the flavor of the curry.
- Coconut milk — Use full-fat coconut milk for a creamier texture and richer taste.
- Potatoes — Parboil the potatoes for a few minutes before adding them to the curry to ensure they cook evenly.
- Bell pepper — For added smokiness, you can roast the bell pepper before dicing and adding it to the curry.
Tips & Tricks
- For a spicier curry, increase the amount of cayenne pepper or add a chopped chili pepper.
- Adjust the consistency of the curry by adding more vegetable broth if desired.
- To enhance the flavors, let the curry sit for a while before serving to allow the spices to meld together.
- Experiment with different vegetables such as zucchini, eggplant, or sweet potatoes to add variety to the curry.
- Serve the Moroccan Curry with a side of warm pita bread or naan for a complete meal.
