Preparation

  1. 1.
In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, feta cheese, onion, garlic, mint, parsley, dried oregano, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. 2.
Take a dumpling wrapper and place a spoonful of the lamb and feta mixture in the center. Fold the wrapper in half and seal the edges by pressing firmly with your fingers. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. 3.
Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the dumplings in batches and cook until golden brown on both sides, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. 4.
Remove the cooked dumplings from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
  5. 5.
Serve the Greek-style dim sum hot with a side of tzatziki sauce or Greek yogurt for dipping.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Ground lamb — Make sure to use lean ground lamb for a healthier option. If you prefer, you can substitute it with ground beef or chicken.
  • Feta cheese — Opt for high-quality feta cheese for the best flavor. If you're not a fan of feta, you can substitute it with goat cheese or ricotta.

Tips & Tricks

  • To save time, you can prepare the filling in advance and refrigerate it until ready to use.
  • If you prefer a healthier option, you can bake the dumplings in the oven instead of frying them. Simply brush them with olive oil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serving advice

Serve the Greek-style dim sum as an appetizer or part of a meze platter. Garnish with fresh herbs, such as mint or parsley, for an extra pop of color and flavor.
