Preparation

1.Cook the rice noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2.In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant.

3.Add the ground pork to the pan and cook until browned and cooked through.

4.Stir in the fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, five-spice powder, and chili flakes (if using). Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

5.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

6.In a baking dish, layer the cooked rice noodles, followed by a layer of the pork mixture. Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used, ending with a layer of noodles on top.

7.Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.

8.Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
