Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Shiitake mushrooms — Make sure to clean them thoroughly before slicing. You can also sauté them in a pan with a little bit of oil before adding them to the pizza for extra flavor.
  • Nori seaweed — Shred the nori seaweed into small pieces before adding it to the pizza. You can also toast it in a dry pan for a few seconds to bring out its flavor.
  • Wasabi paste — Use wasabi paste sparingly, as it can be quite spicy. You can also substitute it with wasabi powder mixed with water.

Tips & Tricks

  • For a crispier crust, preheat your baking sheet or pizza stone in the oven before placing the pizza on it.
  • You can also add other Japanese ingredients to the pizza, such as pickled ginger or bonito flakes.
  • If you don't have wasabi paste, you can substitute it with horseradish mixed with mustard.
