1.In a large paella pan or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

2.Add the diced onion, minced garlic, diced red bell pepper, and minced scotch bonnet pepper. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.

3.Stir in the ground turmeric, ground allspice, and paprika. Cook for another minute to release the flavors.
