Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Apples — Choose firm and slightly tart Bosnian apples such as Boskoop or Granny Smith for the best flavor and texture.
  • Bosnian pastry dough — Ensure the dough is chilled before rolling it out to achieve a flaky crust.

Tips & Tricks

  • To prevent the caramel from burning, keep a close eye on it while it's cooking.
  • Serve the Bosnian Tarte Tatin warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgence.
  • If you don't have an ovenproof skillet, you can use a regular skillet and transfer the caramelized apples to a baking dish before adding the pastry.

Serving advice

Serve the Bosnian Tarte Tatin warm as a dessert. It pairs wonderfully with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Presentation advice

To enhance the presentation, dust the top of the tart with powdered sugar before serving. You can also garnish with a sprig of fresh mint for a pop of color.
