The original Indian dish is typically made with rice flour and minimal spices, while the Padang version adds a variety of aromatic spices such as turmeric, coriander, and chili powder. The Padang-style Rice Dumplings also have a spicier taste compared to the milder Indian version, making them a perfect choice for those who enjoy a bit of heat in their dishes. 1.In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, rice flour, turmeric powder, coriander powder, chili powder, salt, grated coconut, vegetable oil, chopped cilantro, and chopped green chilies.

3.Gradually add water, a little at a time, and knead the mixture into a smooth dough. The dough should be soft and pliable.

4.Take small portions of the dough and shape them into small dumplings.

5.Steam the dumplings in a steamer for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and firm.
