Preparation

1.Blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 2 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Drain and set aside.
-
2.Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
-
3.In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
-
4.In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper. Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
-
5.Return the beef to the skillet and cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
-
6.Add the blanched broccoli florets to the skillet and toss gently to coat them with the sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the broccoli is heated through but still crisp.
-
7.Remove from heat and serve immediately.
Treat your ingredients with care...
- Beef — For the best results, choose a high-quality cut of beef like tenderloin or sirloin. Slice the beef thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness.
- Broccoli — Blanching the broccoli helps retain its vibrant color and crisp texture. Be careful not to overcook it, as it should still have a slight crunch.
Tips & Tricks
- To add an extra touch of elegance, garnish the dish with toasted sesame seeds or thinly sliced scallions.
- For a spicier twist, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of chili oil to the sauce.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water and add it to the skillet during the final minutes of cooking.
