Preparation

1.Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion, minced garlic, and sliced bell pepper. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.

2.Add the cooked black beans, diced Cuban sausages, diced ham, diced tomatoes, adobo seasoning, tomato paste, and sofrito to the pot. Stir well to combine.

3.Pour in the chicken broth and water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 20 minutes.

4.Add the sliced cabbage, carrots, potatoes, chorizo, and plantains to the pot. Cook for an additional 15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

5.If desired, add hot sauce for an extra kick of spice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
