1.In a saucepan, bring 2 cups (473ml) of water to a boil.

2.In a separate bowl, sprinkle the powdered gelatin over the remaining 2 cups (473ml) of cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.

3.Add the bloomed gelatin mixture to the boiling water and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.

4.Stir in the sugar until it is fully dissolved.

5.Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.

6.Stir in the rosewater and red food coloring (if desired) until well combined.
