Preparation

  1. 1.
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to create the Bosnian-style Teriyaki sauce.
  2. 2.
Place the chicken pieces in a shallow dish and pour half of the Teriyaki sauce over them. Reserve the remaining sauce for later.
  3. 3.
Marinate the chicken in the sauce for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for maximum flavor.
  4. 4.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the marinated chicken. Cook for 6-8 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and nicely browned.
  5. 5.
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Pour the slurry into the skillet with the chicken and stir well.
  6. 6.
Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken pieces.
  7. 7.
Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro.
  8. 8.
Serve the Bosnian-style Teriyaki over steamed rice or with a side of Bosnian bread.
