1.In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parsley, mint, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2.Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

3.Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until they are softened and lightly golden.

4.Add the ground cumin, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, ground turmeric, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the pot. Stir well to coat the onions and garlic with the spices.

5.Add the canned diced tomatoes and beef or vegetable broth to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil.
